Dr Georgina Konrat (MBBS, FACCSM) is a cosmetic doctor consulting from Bondi Junction in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. She has practised medicine since 1997, specialised in cosmetic medicine for over two decades, and holds General Registration with AHPRA under MED0001407863. This page sets out how the practice operates, the procedures offered, and what patients should expect before booking a first consultation.
About the Practice
The primary consulting rooms are at Suite 402, Level 4, 59-75 Grafton Street, Bondi Junction NSW 2022. This is the address for first and second consultations, review appointments, and any discussion that does not require a theatre setting. Surgical procedures themselves are performed at an accredited day-surgery or hospital facility with a specialist anaesthetist — the specific facility depends on the procedure and is confirmed in writing at the second consultation.
Dr Konrat also consults through the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney more broadly and has additional practice availability in Brisbane through Brisbane Cosmetic Clinic. Brisbane bookings are arranged through the Sydney rooms.
Procedures Offered
The practice covers eleven cosmetic procedures across four broad categories. Each has a dedicated page with the risks, recovery, consultation process, and fee discussion laid out in detail — the overview below is a starting point only.
- Intimate: labiaplasty (using the DOVE Surgical Technique) and revision labiaplasty
- Breast: breast reduction, breast lift, breast implant removal, nipple reduction, and inverted nipple correction
- Face: eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and otoplasty (ear pinning)
- Body: brachioplasty (arm lift) and liposuction
The full list — with subtitles, tags, and structured descriptions — is on the procedures hub page.
What the AHPRA 2023 Reforms Mean for You
In July 2023, AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia introduced significant regulatory changes to the way cosmetic surgery is practised in Australia. The reforms followed a long consultation process and several public inquiries into patient harm, and they apply to every cosmetic doctor in Sydney — and Australia — without exception. The most important changes for prospective patients are:
- A current GP referral is required before the first consultation with the doctor who may perform the procedure.
- At least two separate consultations with the doctor performing the procedure are required before any surgery can be booked.
- A documented cooling-off period of at least seven days between the second consultation and surgery is required.
- New advertising rules apply — particularly around social media, before-and-after images, and the use of the word "surgeon".
- Minimum age requirements apply for specific procedures, and stricter informed-consent rules apply across the board.
Dr Konrat's practice follows this framework for every patient and treats the cooling-off period as a genuine safety check rather than an administrative hurdle. Patients who decide not to proceed after the second consultation are not penalised, and there is no pressure to book on the same day. The how to choose a cosmetic doctor in Sydney article explains the full framework and includes a checklist of red flags to watch out for.
Verifying Registration and Credentials
Before booking any cosmetic consultation, patients can and should verify the doctor's AHPRA registration. The public AHPRA register is free and available at ahpra.gov.au. Search by the doctor's full name or registration number. The register will show current registration status, any conditions or undertakings on the registration, and any recognised specialist qualifications. Dr Konrat's registration number is MED0001407863 and her registration status is General Registration.
Booking a Consultation
To book a first consultation, a current GP referral is required. The referral should ideally be dated within the last 12 months and should be addressed to Dr Konrat or to the practice. Once the referral is in hand, the practice can be contacted by phone on 02 9188 1949, through the online booking page, or through the contact page for written enquiries.
Patients attending a first consultation are welcome to bring a support person, a written list of questions, and any prior medical records or imaging relevant to the discussion. The consultation itself covers the patient's specific concern, the medical history, the procedures that may be appropriate (and any that should be ruled out), and a first discussion of risks and recovery. No booking is made at the first consultation — bookings are only confirmed at the second consultation with the required cooling-off period in place.
