Finding an Eyelid Surgery Clinic Near You

Blepharoplasty in
Central Sydney

If you are searching for blepharoplasty near you in Sydney, Dr Konrat's Bondi Junction clinic is well-connected by public transport and within easy reach of most Sydney suburbs. The clinic is a 3-minute walk from Bondi Junction train station (T4 line) and adjacent to the bus interchange serving routes from Bondi Beach, Randwick, Coogee, the CBD, and beyond.

Dr Konrat performs both upper and lower blepharoplasty. Upper blepharoplasty addresses excess skin that folds over the lash line, which can affect peripheral vision or create a tired appearance. Lower blepharoplasty targets under-eye bags and loose skin beneath the lower lash line. Some patients benefit from both procedures performed in a single session.

A GP referral is required before your first consultation. During that appointment, Dr Konrat will examine your eyelid anatomy, discuss what changes may be achievable, explain the surgical approach in detail, and outline the risks and recovery involved. There is a mandatory 7-day cooling-off period before any cosmetic surgery can be booked. All surgical procedures carry risks, and results vary between individuals.

Important Information

Risks & Complications

All surgical procedures carry risks. Potential risks and complications of Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) are outlined below and will also be discussed in detail during consultation.

For broader information about surgical risk, visit the General Risks and Complications page.

Who Is It For?

Reasons Patients Consider
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Excess Upper Eyelid Skin

Redundant skin that folds over the upper eyelid crease, potentially obstructing peripheral vision or creating a hooded, heavy appearance.

Under-Eye Bags

Puffiness or fat deposits beneath the lower eyelids that create a tired or aged appearance, regardless of how rested you feel.

Eyelid Asymmetry

A noticeable difference between the left and right eyelids in terms of skin excess, fat distribution, or overall appearance.

Impaired Vision

Severe upper eyelid hooding that droops into the line of sight, reducing peripheral or upper field vision and affecting daily activities.

Age-Related Changes

Loss of skin elasticity and weakening of the muscles around the eyes that occurs naturally with ageing, leading to sagging and puffiness.

Personal Preference

Some patients wish to address the appearance of their eyelids for personal reasons. All motivations are discussed openly and without judgement during consultation.

The Procedure

How Blepharoplasty
Works

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and repositions or removes fat deposits from around the eyelids. The surgical approach is tailored to each patient based on their anatomy and concerns.

For upper blepharoplasty, the incision is placed within the natural eyelid crease, allowing the scar to be well-concealed once healed. Excess skin and, where necessary, small amounts of fat are carefully removed.

For lower blepharoplasty, the incision is typically placed just below the lower lash line or inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival approach). Fat may be repositioned or removed to reduce puffiness, and excess skin is trimmed if needed.

The procedure is usually performed under local anaesthesia with sedation and takes one to two hours. Most patients go home the same day. For full details, visit the main eyelid surgery page.

Pricing & Fees

How Much Does Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Cost?

The cost of blepharoplasty depends on whether upper, lower, or both eyelids are treated, the complexity of the procedure, the type of anaesthesia, and facility fees. A personalised fee estimate is provided after your consultation at the Bondi Junction clinic.

Dr Georgina Konrat is a cosmetic doctor. Medicare rebates and private health insurance rebates are generally not applicable for cosmetic blepharoplasty at her practice. Functional upper blepharoplasty (where excess skin obstructs vision) may have different Medicare eligibility — this will be discussed during consultation.
